Description: Beginning in stands of Douglas, noble, and silver fir, the trail switchbacks uphill for 2.2 mils to the junction with Wauna Point Trail #402. Continue on #401 and into Hatfield Wilderness for 2.1 miles to the Dublin Lake turn-off. Tanner Butte is 4.5 miles further south on #401, and provides a panoramic view of the Cascade Mountain Range and the local Larch, Chinidere, and Indian Mountains. To make this a loop trail, double back to Dublin Lake and Head west on Trail #448 for 3.5 miles. The trail connects with #431 and Forest Service Road 777 for a further 2.5 miles north back to the parking lot.
